A Fun Day

Today was a nasty day outside so Lindsay, Gracie, and I stayed in all day. We had a great time together not being rushed to be somewhere. This afternoon, Lindsay wanted to play dress-up, and we even got Gracie in on the action.
Gracie started out as a ballerina fairy, and then Lindsay decided she needed the wedding veil also. Quite a stunning ensemble!



Lindsay started out as Cinderella but then decided to be a ballerina. She even got out her tights to wear too.


This is Gracie's favorite thing lately. Anytime she finds something soft, she lays her head down. She wants one of us to say, "Night, night Gracie," and then she pops up again with a huge grin on her face.

Lindsay fell into the box of dress up clothes.

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a wonderful weekend this year for Mother's Day. My parents came to see us which meant that Tanner and I were able to have a "date" Saturday night. We haven't even been to a movie since we moved to Chattanooga. Pathetic, I know.
Sunday was great too. I was getting ready for church when Lindsay woke up so Tanner brought her downstairs. She could not wait to run in and tell me happy Mother's Day. I think Tanner had done a lot of prep work with her. She had made me two cards and written Mother's Day on one which she was VERY proud of. After Gracie woke up, they gave me a card from Hallmark where you can record your own greeting. Tanner had gotten Lindsay to leave me a message from her and Gracie. It was the sweetest thing, and I'm so glad to be able to have her little voice forever. They also gave me a Starbucks gift card and mug. Lindsay was thrilled about this too because it was completely her idea. Tanner said that when he asked her what she wanted to get me, she wasted no time saying, "a coffee mug because Mommy loves coffee." I'm afraid I've taken her on one too many Starbucks runs.
I love being a mommy, and my sweet girls and husband made my day. Here are some pictures from the weekend:






This picture is funny to me because I was trying to just get a picture of my parents, but Lindsay decided at the last second that she wanted to be in it too. She ran up and put on her biggest smile.

A Taste of Her Own Medicine

Sorry I've been terrible at blogging lately. We have been so busy with Tanner's work schedule, travelling, and just enjoying the spring weather. I wanted to get these pictures up though because I thought they were so funny.
The other day Lindsay, Gracie, and I were getting ready to go to the park. I was finishing gathering up all of our stuff, and the girls were playing with the alphabet and Fridge Farm magnets on our back door. When it was time to go, I asked Lindsay to pick them up. She was being such a good girl and working so hard to get them all put back up on the door, but Gracie was not being cooperative. As soon as Lindsay got a couple of magnets up, Gracie would pull them back down. Lindsay was saying, "No, no Gracie, let me pick them up. We have to clean up baby." She talks to Gracie just like I do. It was so funny and cute that I had to get my camara (I guess I should have helped Lindsay out a little bit more!) I just thought it was hilarious because this has been my life for the last three years...trying to put things away with Lindsay coming right behind me and taking them back out. I wouldn't trade it for the world though!

Hallelujah, What a Savior!

We just had a wonderful Easter Sunday celebrating Jesus Our Savior. On Saturday night, I went to the Passion Play at Oakland Baptist Church in Corinth, MS. It was a wonderful performance that really made this Easter special for me. It's so important to be reminded of how Jesus paid the ultimate price for our salvation. Sunday morning the preacher said that 64 people had already received Christ as their Savior during the first two performances and there were still two more performances to go. Praise God!

Here are a few pictures from our weekend in Corinth. If you're wondering why Tanner is MIA, it's because he had to work all weekend. He was the only thing missing from our wonderful Easter.

The Easter Bunny came to our house before we left for Corinth so Tanner could be with us when the girls got their baskets.



We got to see Tanner's sister Leesa's little baby Will while we were in Corinth. He and Gracie were sweet little bunnies together.

Easter morning before and after church - I wasn't able to get a good picture of the girls before church since my photo assistant Tanner was working. My dad got one of the three of us after church that was decent though.



Lindsay and Gracie with my nieces Kate and Sadie. They are so sweet to my girls, and Lindsay and Gracie just LOVE them! They all had fun hunting eggs together.

Easter Egg Hunts

We have been to two Easter Egg Hunts in the last two days. Yesterday, there was a lunch and an egg hunt after church at Brainerd Baptist. Lindsay had fun finding the eggs, but she was really more interested in what was inside them than anything else. She had had WAY too much chocolate by the time it was all over. Gracie loved eating the eggs and digging them out of the basket. She was all smiles!




Today we had an Easter Egg Hunt with our playgroup. Tanner was off so Gracie stayed home with him since the shindig was taking place during her morning nap. Lindsay and I had a great time though! Here are some pics for you to enjoy!

A Fun Weekend

This weekend our friends from Florence, AL, the Smiths, came to visit us. Ashley and Micah have two little girls also, Abigail and Mollie. Ashley and I had not seen each other in over a year so we were so excited to finally be able to get together. On Monday, we took the girls to the TN Aquarium. The girls had a great time! They also had fun each night when they all piled into the tub together. Poor little Gracie just had to watch. She'll be joining them before too long!

Build A Bear

Yesterday, we made out first trip to the Build-A-Bear Workshop. A few weeks ago, I noticed that I was constantly correcting Lindsay about the same things. We made a chart for her to earn stars when she did the things she was supposed to do, like follow directions the first time, staying seated while eating, asking politely, etc. She has worked SOOOOO hard and her reward was going to Build-A-Bear. She had a wonderful time and was so cute selecting her bear and dressing it up.

Our little Gracie is really getting a personality! She is such a SWEET baby. She has just started pulling up on things and cruising. Here are a few pictures that I've gotten the last week of her standing. As you can see, she gets very excited and is very proud of herself!
